I haven't tested receiving more e-mail. Are you using BES or BIS? What firmware?

Do you see any error when you launch OpenWatch?
Is it GSM Blackberry? Is the SMS in latin/ascii or unicode (national characters)?

You can see the latest message by pressing the top right button three times.

Gsm blackberry
I see no error messages when starting
The sms is either in Hungarian with accented letters or English with no accents
None of them show up
I use the threaded sms from OS5....
Tried switching off other programs that interact with receiving sms(caller ID and smart alerts)

Still nothing...
Also no calendar reminder
Wonderful program though
THANKS

This means that the incoming SMS already are handled by other application. There's nothing I can do about it since it's shared among all applications. You have to choose for yourself and uninstall that application.

I haven't really tested calendar remiders on 5.0. I will do that later.

I did choose and uninstalled everything that conflicted
ledalert, colorID and smrtguard (Which is now free, try it....)
now it is perfect
one question though since I dont have LedAlert running any more:
I guess for some obvious reason you cannot write the missing sms count above the battery display. Are there any limitations?
thanks you

Is the application displaying the number of unread SMS? There's no official way how to get the count on BB. It has to be some hack.

Can you give me a link to that application?

no it doesnt show sms count
ledalert only blinks the led and vibrate to show you have missed call, sms, email, msn etc
ColorID can change the led color for different contacts.
I used both
but now only use yours with the watch

do you think it is possible to see an sms icon on the watch missed call and email count screen(and not a count number of sms )just to see that I have a missed sms?
I use this screen now to check what I have missed

Have you noticed that if an email has no subject then only the letter symbol is shown?

the one I wanted you to try is this
https://www.smrtguard.com/smrtguard.jsp?m=f
and now it is frreeeee if you dont use the backup function
used to be a monthly fee
great piece of software

I have the cheaper no-name brand of Bluetooth watch that I got from ThinkGeek here:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/watches/c16c/
I installed OpenWatch v0.1.7.3 (20100127) on my Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220 unlocked from TMobile running v4.6.0.180.
I started OpenWatch and could only get data to start after selecting the update contacts option from the watch menu. When I did that I got:
ATE0
AT+CPBS="ME"
AT+CSCS=?
AT+CNMI?
After that everytime I pressed the watch activity button I got:
AT+CHUP
Is there any chance of getting some of the other features working with this watch? I've been wanting to get the MBW-150 anyway. I got this watch to see if I like the concept without paying for features that I couldn't use. Since OpenWatch would allow me to use those features the SonyEricsson all the sudden seems like a lot better deal.
Thanks for making such a useful piece of software (even if it not for me yet).

This watch is Chinese knock-off (actually made by LM Technologies). It works out of the box with most phones but it's not supported in OpenWatch (only in smartWatchM for Windows Mobile). This watch will not be supported any time soon.

Thanks for your quick reply. I suspected as much. I guess I'll place my order for a MBW 150, so I can get the media controls. SmartWatchM only has support for what the watch already does. I think I will also keep up with the Dynawa TCH1 that was mentioned elsewhere in the forums. That looks like it will be a fun piece of gear to hack! I'm hooked on BT watches now.

Hi,

I'm looking for v.1.5 of Openwatch, I'm a BB 8320 user and I read in the forum that v1.5 works with BB OS v4.5 for 8100, but I couldn't download file, in the web link appears v.1.7 only, and with the last version BB 8320 produces an error during installation. Please somebody could send v1.5 to me by email: gonsito@gmail.com

Thanks in advance

What error? OpenWatch should be compatible with all BlackBerry OS 4.5 or later.

You may also try downloading these two files and installing using Application Loader from desktop.

Great piece of software. Will do a DONATION now.

Everything is working, exept the Calendar Reminders, wich i want your software mainly use for.

I'm on a BB Bold 9700 with 5.0 Software. I think it's mentioned in this thread from another member, that this is not working.

Are you willing to test calendar reminders under 5.0?

Thanks alot for your extraordinary work!
