Chinese support (or any other Asian/World language) in smartWatchM

Now you can display characters/text of any language on the MBW-100/150/200. Currently this feature works with caller id, sms/mail notifications (message sender + subject or text preview), and music (when changing tracks in WMP). More things (some menu items) will be added later.

Go to Menu -> Settings -> Other and enable Asian/Unicode Support.

If the font is too large/small, modify the values in the registry

HKLM\Software\smartmadsoft\smartWatchM
AsianFont = Name of Font Family (default is Arial)
AsianFontSize = Size of the Font (autodetect size by default)

If I was Chinese I would add this to smartWatchM moths ago. I've only flashed a Chinese ROM on Touch Pro.

also, i tried to use size 3 for the font to see if 2 line display is ok.
however...it's really terrible. haha.

Of coz it's better to have full length msg support, appointment and the song names :D
but i think appointment and song names should come first.

Appointments and song info added.
Full length messages - I have to think of nice solution for this so maybe later.

hi man~after testing~i found it worked in appointment and song name.

but, when i press the skip song button, the display changed to 2line display again and no chinese can be show.
also, the appointment can't show the full information. (because the word is big, so the information can't finished in one line)
i found that the chinese display is actually 2 line display but the screen only show the first line.
so for full length message and the appointment~can it be solved by scrolling with only one line?

moreover, can appointment dispaly the place?? i believe it will be more useful.


ps: someone in taiwan forum report that they can't show chinese when using mbw-200.
but the same issue happened even in normal SE mobile. it should not be the problem of smartwatchm

i think it is not a "problem" but a way to show chinese.

Just edit the registry and enter name of different font installed on your Windows Mobile device.



I believe MBW-200 is the same as MBW-150, the watches just receive and display the graphics... So it have to work. Does the 2-line English text work? Maybe it's just wrong font size..

It really works fine. but caller id in korean is not supported.
On this post and Comparison table, I can see that unicode supported Models are only MBW-100/150/200. But is there any chance to using unicode on LM957/LM958 (Watch)?
