Hi

I'm still not able to use my MBW-150 with my Touch Pro 2 (widcomm stack).
I tried all the latest versions (up to the 1.2.4.2, 20090815 update).

I managed to pair the watch through the software, and the watch seems to connect fine the first time (it updates the digital time, etc.)

It does not work anymore after a reboot.

Are there owners of this phone who managed to have smartWatchM work ?

Thanks

K.

I am having the same problem with my Touch Pro 2 and MBW-150.

I have paired the phone and watch both via SmartwatchM (1.2.4.1) and via the BT manager and the pairing succeeds but when I try to connect I get the "Waiting for connection. Press a button on the watch." message but nothing happens when I press a button on the watch.

However I still have SmartwatchM version 1.2.0.3 which allows a BT connection via a COM port and this works OK, although it does not have all the functions of the latest version.

Hi guys,

the 3rd party "Widcomm stack driver" is still in beta version. Unfortunately I don't have any access to Touch Pro 2 so I haven't tested smartWatchM on this device. I just use Motorola Q9h and some old HP PDA.

When the Touch Pro 2 was released people reported it was working... Are you guys using official ROMs or cooked ones?

I have uploaded 2 new test versions.

smartwatchm_a.cab
smartwatchm_b.cab

Could you please test them both on your TP2 and report if are they working or not? Thanks

My Touch Pro2 was supplied by Vodafone, my airtime provider in the UK. When you turn the phone on the splash screen shows Vodafone and under Programs there is a Vodafone option that connects you to the Vodafone news, sports, etc. services. Otherwise as far as I can see it is pretty standard.

Unfortunately neither test version works for me, they both exhibit the same problem, i.e. no response after the "Waiting for connection. Press a button on the watch." message.

I tried both forms of pairing with both versions and the pairing always worked OK. I also reset both the watch and the phone before each install.

If I select Stop Connection I get the message Connection Closed and then Error: Cannot Open connection.

Thanks for your help.

I have tried both the wc1230 and wc1223 cabs, with the same results from both.

Neither version would pair with the watch and when I paired via the BT manager I get the same problem of no response after the "Waiting for connection. Press a button on the watch." message.

The only difference I noticed from the previous versions was that once the "Waiting for connection. Press a button on the watch." message is being displayed the "Menu" option is unresponsive and I have to close the program.

Thanks again for your help.

Sorry for the delay in testing this version.

I was able to pair this version from within SmartWatchM, but whether paired directly or through the BT manager I still cannot get any response after the "Waiting for connection. Press a button on the watch." message.

However I did notice that while the "Waiting for connection. Press a button on the watch." message is being display if I delete the watch in the BT manager and re-pair it then connects correctly. It still seems to work even after stopping and re-starting SmartWatchM.

Thanks,

G

Hello,

I have a touch pro 2 and have managed to get my MBW-150 working with version v1.2.4.2 and previous versions by making a slight registry edit that was mentioned somewhere else on this forum in relevence to older watches

The edit is

Change "HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0001\Auto" from 1 to 0 and restart the device.

You then pair the device using smartwathM and once pairing is complete the watch connects once a button is pressed

U could probably pair using widcomm bluetooth stack instead of smartwatch too but i have not tested that way

Hope this helps

After pairing using smartwatchM you have to disconnect bluetooth serial port using the Touch Pro2's bt manager. After this the smartwatchM will connect after pressing button on the watch.

Thanks for the info guys. I will add this tweak (an option for TP 2 and other devices with Widcomm stack to disable serial connection) to the future version of smartWatchM.

Just to add, the new HTC HD2 has this problem too. I was nearly pulling my hair out wondering why it wasn't working - then I saw that the stack itself was connecting and that kinda gave it away.

Will disabling the seriel service in the registry prevent use of other blue tooth devices? I want to use the 150 watch and still be able to use my Bose QC3 with Bluetooth Headset adapter

Hi
I have a Touch2 (Mega) and smartWatchM 1.2.5.1. However, despite making the suggested registry edit, the phone still does not pair with the watch. It can find it as a bluetooth device in the bluetooth manager but when pairing in smartWatchM, it still says "Waiting for connection. Press a button on the watch." I even tried to reset the watch but still no connection. FYI it connects normally with Sony Ericsson P1i.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi,
I made it work now!!! Had to pair it through the normal bluetooth manager by setting the pairing code "0000". Then it wrote that "there are no services we are interested in". However, once smartWatchM was run, it worked!!! Thanks a lot, guys, you are AMAZING!!!!
